VFA Past President Joel
Cathey selected Ann Hutchinson Duff for the 2008 President’s
Award, which recognizes outstanding leadership and tireless
dedication to VFA and the sustainable practice of forestry
in Virginia.
Duff is the Northern Region Systems Manager for
Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation. She has served the
forestry community on numerous boards and committees
including VFA’s Board of Directors and Executive Committee,
Virginia Project Learning Tree Advisory Committee and the
SFI State Implementation Committee. She currently chairs the
Virginia Reforestation Board and the Forest Ordinances Task
Force.
In his presentation, Cathey praised Duff for her “energy,
dedication and true love for the forest industry, forest
landowners and the forest community.”
