The Virginia Forestry Association represents the interests of forest landowners, loggers, foresters, and wood product businesses before the Virginia General Assembly, state regulatory agencies and US Congress to ensure that sensible policies and regulations are enacted, allowing our state’s forest based economy to thrive.

Position Statements

VFA's position statements are important components of our advocacy and outreach efforts. Approved by the VFA Board of Directors, they serve as a foundation to guide our actions on particular issues and act as a catalyst to further dialogue and engagement with members, policymakers, and partner organizations. Bill Monitoring & Tracking

VFA's bill tracking module provides our members with a comprehensive look at legislation introduced in Virginia's General Assembly. The tracker allows members the ability to find legislation on forest-based topics or programs most important to them. The tracker will be updated daily during each General Assembly session to reflect the most recent action on legislation. Click here to visit VFA's Bill Tracking page.

VFA Advocacy Fund

Established by the Board of Directors in 2021, VFA’s Advocacy Fund relies on contributions from those within Virginia's forestry community to support the association's government affairs education efforts. Click here to learn about VFA's Advocacy Fund.

Forestry Community Legislative Day on the Hill

Each year during the General Assembly session, VFA partners with the Virginia Forest Products Association and the Virginia Loggers Association for a critical day of in-person forest and forest products advocacy. This annual event is vital to ensuring that elected representatives understand the issues impacting members in order to make well-informed decisions.
